I'm Stephanie Boudreaux, and I’m a certified perinatal counselor and licensed professional counselor in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have specialized training from Postpartum Support International, and I have completed advanced training from the Postpartum Stress Center to work with women during the reproductive period. Personally, I know first-hand what it is like to struggle with a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, or PMAD, so I bring understanding and compassion into my sessions, along with my expertise in the this area. What helped me was properly processing my feelings in a non-judgmental space with a perinatal professional, leading to my own recovery and my journey to helping other mothers. I believe mothers deserve care, attention, and emotional support in order find ways to enjoy motherhood and become the mother they want to be. Counseling is a commitment you make to yourself, and it benefits those around you, too. Asking for help is a sign of courage and takes vulnerability. It is through this vulnerability that we can process the complex emotions of motherhood and real change can happen. I have counseled women with perinatal depression, anxiety, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, and PTSD; pregnancy and/or birth complications and birth trauma, adjustment to motherhood, primary infertility, secondary infertility, miscarriage, perinatal loss, family and relationship issues, and parenting stress and concerns. I also understand the complexities of the NICU experience and healing from the mother wound or that of an emotionally immature parent or caregiver. I offer flexible scheduling and in-person and telehealth appointments. In addition to working with individuals, I facilitate group sessions for mothers who are struggling with a perinatal mood and/or anxiety disorder and who can use understanding and validation from other moms.
